Background

Humans have colonized the known galaxy and large portions of the unknown galaxy. Over half of known worlds have humans which can interbreed with Altlanetians.

Apparently humans have a tendency to knock their civilizations down either by themselves or with the help of other nearby sentients.

TECHNOLOGY

Stardrive - Hyper drive creates its own little universe. Each hyper unit is a bit different. Better processing power and skills means faster, smoother hyper performance.

Nanotech - Nanites require continuous oversight to make sure they do not mutate and get loose. Sentient uploads typically handle this for new or extremely flexible nanites. It is feasible for well tested nanites to operate with only computer and software oversight but not advised for extended periods. Bath nanites in extreme UV for power source.

Sentient Upload - The secret of Sentient Galactic Society's success. An upload is created of its citizens and updated through life. The sentient's are much faster than humans in data processing but tend to get stale. They need constant interesting (to them) interaction with humans to remain viable. Many sentients get immersed in virtual worlds and are of little use to anyone. Others get stuck in loops or ruts and become inflexible and useless in tasks requiring human judgement. Some of these are good for overseeing software, nanites, or other monitoring tasks.
